15 Kids Bedroom Essentials From Amazon

When it was time to transition my son from a nursery to a “big boys room”, I found so many budget-friendly essentials on Amazon. He had reached the age that it was time to move from a crib to a regular bed so there was so much I had to buy from new sheets and a comforter to a mattress protector and bed rail bumpers. Changing out bedding was a big part of his room makeover because he now had an entirely new bed and bed size. As he was sleeping alone in a full size bed, I wanted to make sure he was safe by getting bed rail bumpers and also ensure his matress lasted for all the years to come by getting a waterproof mattress protector that could be easily thrown in the washer when accidents happened.
Since I first wrote about Wells’ bedroom transition, I’ve made even more updates to accommodate his changing needs, and updated the look a bit too:
Wells’ Big Boy Room
These blue and white gingham curtains just scream “little boy’s room” to me. They’re so timeless but unfortunately they’re now out of stock (from Amazon) and don’t appear to be coming back. I’m glad I got them when I did! I had these in Wells’ nursery and have kept them now that he has transitioned to a big boys room.

Boys’ Room Organization
Along with bedding must-haves, I am sharing some of my favorite finds that help keep your little one’s room organized and tidy. I hope these kids Amazon finds help you when styling and organize your kiddos nursery or bedroom.
Amazon Kids Bedroom Must Haves

Cars bed sheet set (3 Piece) - Back when we transitioned this room, Wells was all about dinosaurs. We’ve since swapped them out for his latest obsession, cars.
Striped Sheet Set - We also have and love this classic striped sheet set for a bit more of a grown-up look.
Toddler Bed Rail Bumpers (set of 2) - Total necessity! These have been one of my favorite Amazon finds as I have transitioned Wells from a crib to a normal bed. No more having to worry about him rolling out of his bed. 10/10 recommend. These memory foam long pillow pads are non-slip and have machine washable covers.
Waterproof Mattress Protector - Seriously another game changer for your little one’s bedroom. This quilted mattress cover is breathable and machine washable. It comes in every size — Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and California King. It is 100% absorbent and waterproof to keep your mattress safe from spills or nighttime accidents.
Handwoven Lidded Laundry Basket - We have this and love it. Not only is is adorable and a great way to add texture to a room, but it is also an awesome size. I love the fact that this laundry hamper is lidded because it keeps things looking tidy and helps prevent the stinky smell of dirty clothes from filling the room. Another bonus is that the canvas liner is removable and machine washable.
Acrylic Floating Shelves - Have. Love. I ordered the set of 6 and made 3 rows by hanging 2 side by side on each row. I wanted them to be a bit longer, so that’s the solution I came up with and it looks great! These are wonderful for any style nursery or childrens bedroom.
Water Hyacinth Storage Basket - You can never have enough storage in a kid’s bedroom, much less storage that is aesthetically pleasing. This basket is an ideal toy chest for toys, blankets, stuffed animals and really anything!
Toy Storage Organizer - Perfect for your kiddos room or for a playroom. This is great to keeping toys up and out of the way but still easily accessible. I love all the little bins on this organizer. A big plus about this type of storage unit is it is easy to clean and sanitize!
Gingham Sheet Set - You can never have enough sheet sets especially when you have little ones. I love this traditional pattern and the fun colors! Here you’ll find them in pink and blue.
Kids Table and Chairs - When I was little I always loved having a table that was made just for me—the perfect size. This white table and chair set is another favorite finds from Amazon. Place it in your little ones room or playroom for crafts or you could even use it at the holidays as kid’s table when your home is packed with guests.

Neutral Low Maintenance Rug - This simple indoor/outdoor rug is super durable, stain resistant, and easy to clean. It comes in just about every rug size imaginable so it’s easy to fit in any space.
White Bedside Lamps - These white table lamps really give a classic look to a little one’s space.
Waffle Weave Blanket - You may remember when I compared the top Amazon waffle weave blankets. Two were great and two others were not worth it at all! But this one takes the cake for a boy’s bedroom.
Rattan Mirror - I’m convinced that this rectangular rattan mirror would look amazing in any space, but I especially love it in the boy’s bedroom for its versatility. It will look great with whatever toys or decor Wells’ is into over the next few years!
Neutral Pillow Covers - This set of two pillow covers comes in a variety of colors that all fall into the “neutral” category.
