How To Transform a Folding Table for Your Next Backyard Party

I just got back from a fun trip and now I'm ready for all things summer. This time of year always fills up fast—with gatherings, parties, and backyard BBQs. It's the season for outdoor fun, and you know I love any excuse to host. So many of you loved the easy backyard party table setup I shared on Instagram, so today I’m showing you how it’s done!

When it comes to a backyard party or BBQ, the goal is to keep things easy. That way as the host, you can enjoy the warm weather and quality time with friends—no fussing necessary. For this setup, I transformed a simple white folding table that turned into a pretty yet elevated look.

First, I set up my new favorite bamboo folding chairs. These will instantly elevate your next gathering, even if it is a simple one. Best part—no assembly required! The quality is amazing and they are super easy to fold up and store.

Everyone needs a 6’ folding table. It comes in handy for so many occasions, but especially during spring and summer, when you have more visitors and last minute gatherings. I already have my own patio set, but there are many times when an extra table is needed for more seating or as a surface for food and drinks.

Obviously these basic folding tables aren’t the prettiest on their own, which is why this fitted tablecloth has quickly become an essential. It’s about the same price as many disposable tablecloths, but this is a heavier weight, more durable and can be washed and reused again and again. It is perfectly sized for 6’ folding tables and you can get it in a variety of colors (although white is a must!).

Elevate the look with a table runner (love this yellow striped one for summer) and placemats in a fun pattern.

Using elevated disposables keep the after-party clean up easy, and they have really come a long way from your basic paper plate! These eco-friendly plates have a unique scallop design. For another fun pop of summer yellow, I paired them with lemon-printed cocktail napkins.
